In case you've been busy surviving capitalism or bingeing World War III on your pocket screen, let’s get back to basics. An **autocratic breakthrough** is when a country finally stops pretending it’s a democracy.

It doesn’t mean the tanks are rolling in (yet), or the flags are changing. It means the system no longer serves *you*. It serves *them*—the people who bought it, bribed it, bullied it, or inherited it. And they’re not giving it back.

Autocracy, you see, is like plaque in an artery. At first, the blood still flows. The laws still pass. The news still prints. But everything's a little slower, a little meaner. Then one day—bam! Stroke. Regime change. No more oxygen for freedom.

This moment—this final, catastrophic shift—is what political scientists call a **breakthrough**. Because, you know, it's not polite to say “coup” anymore.
